A tbf, I know a lot of professional women who leave work and then return part time (and reduce pay/career). But again, not really available to men. I’m kind of ok w/the asymmetry, I’m very pro natalist. But it sucks for guys.

It's probably different for different professions. Flexible working hours for men or women has been pretty common in the various IT companies my wife and I have worked for.
