No one said that there is a "Jewish gene". It's true that an Eskimo, a Nigerian, or a Vietnamese can convert to Judaism and truly be a Jew. That does not, however, mean that "There is no such thing as 'genetic Jewishness' " is a true statement.

What is "popularity" and how is it measured? Does your lack of ability to define it mean that "popularity" doesn't exist? I don't think that the onus is on me to identify the codons.

sure popularity CAN be measured that way, but that's not a definitive measure, and I doubt you'd find many who agree with you but, fine genetic Jewishness can be measured by the average correlation (0-1 scale) of one's genes with the group average of ppl who identify as Jewish
