5/ Also carried another 6 or so blue bins of science fiction up to the third floor. Remaining: * resort office bookcases to fit 3 new bins in / remove 3 bins (basically I've got categories V, W, X, Y, Z up here, and that overflows the shelves. Need to prune some W and Z >>>
6/ And then, downstairs: * shelves those W and Z * go through 4 bins labelled "keep, unsorted", and figure out categories, then resort those 4 bins. (this problem arose bc the big slices of the pie chart are easy to identify, but the six different 0.6% categories are hard)
7/ Next weekend the book project is probably on hiatus - I need to weld up some steel braces for trellises in wife's berry patch and vineyard. ...but will circle back to bookshelves in due time and make a few more shelves for library ("whiskey room" at HUN) to hold craft books
8/ And then order more wood from lumberyard to make shelves for third floor to hold SF. <deep breath> onward!

9/ The room has * 4 regular sized windows * 1 massive 6' wide window * 1 door (that we never use) with windowpanes The bookcases block the door. The room remains flooded with light. https://twitter.com/doughcollector/status/1125013382749392896 …
ⓘ Dogs don't have thumbs added,
Why aren't they notched for the baseboard and wainscoting so they fit flush against the wall?
srsly, tho, I was aiming for the 80/20 point: * get it done * get it done now * get the books up there could it have been done in hardwood / with a face frame / with a nice finish or milk paint / as a built in / scribed to the molding? sure and maybe in 10 years I'll do that!
...but if I made that the bare minimum standard, (a) MAYBE I'd get that done in 10 years, (b) the books would stay in boxes until then
