Mobs are most successful at targeting low-power-level targets. Mob Thiel or Trump and they shrug it off. Thus someone giving the advice "never bow to mobs" is signalling their own wealth / strength of personality / willingness to tolerate risk. 5/ Of course, I just said that you should trust my signalling. I never said that you should trust my advice! If you've got a job you like, a house with a mortgage, or any other liability, you probably SHOULD cower from the mob. They're irrational and scary!
