I think he is missing the point. Yes, those are rhetorical tools the left uses. The left can't meme doesn't mean they don't use rhetoric. It means their rhetoric is built on lies. It only works if you submit to the like inside the wrapping.

Memes are about truth in the same sense as rhetoric or a story is what I'm getting at. Stories that don't feel "real" don't work well. Rhetoric based on lies is less effective. Same with memes.

So we agree that effectiveness is the actual metric, and we explain effectiveness (perhaps) with "feeling real", I think? So, the left's memes are more effective than ours (e.g. it's legal to abort an 8 month child, it's not legal to own a machine gun). What explains this?
