I imagine @byrneseyeview would tell you that transaction costs are so high that this is not remotely true your social set is composed of people who are bolder, richer, and more online connected than average, letting them conquer three different kinds of transaction costs

Excellent point. Search costs are high and search result quality is terribly low. "Are there cool people here?" might take 5 years to answer either way...

Yep. Still not sure how well I fit in NH. Better, certainly, than in MA. ...but should I have picked NH, or ID, or AK? Gave serious thought to all of them (including climate, growing season, future political trends, access to jobs ...) I know that NH is pretty good...
