This dude talking about working 60 hours a week for 8.15 an hour plus commuting 15 hours a week as though that's good and not a strong indictment of the system as it exists currently. To be satisfied with that is the mindset of either a coward or a lunatic.

It wasn't $8.15/ hr. It was $110/ hr. I was making $6,600 per week. ...plus my side job. So more like $7,500 per week? I paid off half my mortgage in 6 months.

[Shrug] You do you. Want leisure? Do leisure. Want money? Do money. You don't get one by doing the other. ... But if you do the right one first, you'll have time to do the other.

Replying to @ctdonath @captain_columbo and
The only way to get money isn't by working 80 hours a week. Working that much is anti-family and is extremely harmful for long term health, and very few people do it. You live in some fantasy world full of noble boomers who did this, when labor days suggests it was very rare.

I'm doing it right now. Two years ago I spent 6 months working 80 hrs/week. Paid off half my mortgage. Now I'm working 1 primary job and 1 side job and saving a ton of money so I can retire early. It's possible.
