/ Have read, have thought about. 5 years out, climate activists are still poo-pooing the short term trend, it's no reason to stop worrying about global warming. 10 years out, harvests are falling, and this is actually huge, because the farm lobby is real and has political pull https://twitter.com/brainfertilizer/status/1115956491780022272 …

/ Space mirrors can't scale well enough to be a good idea, but that doesn't stop Boeing, ULA, etc. from pivoting and pushing space mirrors HARD (anyone my age remembers all the "space solar power" stuff from the 1970s, to pimp federal spending on the shuttle).

/ Our harvests don't drop THAT much, in the short term, because farmers just switch to seeds for colder zones ... but Canada and Russia take it in the ass. The Russian Question dominates everything here. Honey badger don't give a shit.

/ But around the 10 year point the AGW activists are laughed out, and farm lobby dictates serious response. Wasteful spending on space mirrors continues (Musk and Bezos become trillionaires launching tons of inflateable mylar balloons).

/ The real response, tho, is geoengineering. Massive coal burning plants constructed to pump CO2 into the atmosphere AND to generate steam that flows in pipes under city streets. Unions love this, bc MUH JOBS.

/ The trick to figuring out "how does government react to X?" is to ask yourself the question "what rent seekers have power to influence government policy, and what semi-plausible ways to line their own pockets will they come up with?"
