The idea of fitness for the office is rather arbitrary anyway. Look at the variety of types that held office just in the past 120 years. And our selection process isn't based on leadership ability either.

I daresay it'd be hard to correlate the personal characteristics of past presidents with actual outcomes they achieved. Possible exception: FDR.
