GP My Granddad's Navy sidearm (M1911A1) was made by Singer in Syracuse. Crazy the numbers that got churned out. My brother (dammit) has the sidearm now with original leather holster stamped US.

Singer used WWII to pivot from sewing machines to defense. My dad worked at Singer-Kearfott https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kearfott_Guidance_%26_Navigation … which produced ring laser gyroscopes, etc.
