The meta lesson of the Freudians is that any taboo will have explanatory power simply because it affects behavior but can’t be talked about. But it won’t necessarily explain much.
I've read that they overlap, and you can see this in the terms that different languages use for swears. The three categories are religion / the holy / one's mother, sex acts, and feces / corruption. I find it amusing to see this as a spectrum, with "sex acts" exactly in middle.

Getting back to the semantics of swearing, remember that SJWs find it hard to swear, bc "pervert", "retard", etc. are all good inclusive terms. Our tribe is "shitlords" bc, IIRC, it was a term they coined bc they couldn't think of anything else. In another 20 years "Christian".
