"Lasers and Mercury's orbit and semiconductors aren't real" I assure myself as I close my eyes and ram the last 70 years of technology with my amateur philosophy of sciencehttps://twitter.com/PoseidonAwoke/status/1109788806247518208 …

Lasers and semiconductors require relativity and quantum mechanics to work? Standard Model physics can't explain their operation adequately?

Quantum mechanics and relativity are measurable. Any good modern physics course will have you demonstrate their effects to yourself. They provide simple explanations for common phenomena which are unexplainable by standard model.

Yeah, I remember AP Physics sophomore year of high school, doing the double slit experiment with my friend Lee and proving that light is a wave. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Double-slit_experiment …
