Sweet. I had literally just been thinking that there may be a point in the near future when the costs of curating and maintaining all the data that people are churning out hits a point when most ad-based companies won't want to bother keeping most data and/or go out of business.

Not that I think we're going to *run out* of storage space, but there have to be millions or billions of hours of video, literal trillions of photographs sitting on facebook et al's servers with nobody viewing them. If people aren't paying for maintenance, why keep them?
