yep two distinct questions: * can metrosexuals run an empire? Yes. * given that <tribe> likes 1950s norms and dislikes metrosexual nonbinary norms, do we like this cultural change? No. "running an empire" is not the metric I care about.

My point is there was never really a point in history where there was a stable manly masculinity. For example in the black white photo era of the man in a suit 70 percent of the population was probably agricultural/industrial and thought he was a total pussy.

Yeah - I'm sure Grant (who worked as a performer his entire life) was pretty, shall we say, metrosexual, compared to Gary Cooper or Robert Bray, but I doubt he was considered a total pussy by the public, he wouldn't have been accepted as a leading man.
