GP I'm fine in theory with legalizing weed at the federal level by giving states the option to do so should they like. But the notion that we should wipe out weed related convictions predating legalization? No.
so your argument is "might makes right", not an ethical one ? Fascinating

GP My argument is the victor writes the history. And simply working within an extant system to legalize something previously prohibited isn't proof the law itself was immoral.

GP For example, abortion used to be illegal. Now it's legal. Is the legalization of abortion on demand a good thing?

The ethical one is that most people, even those with "only" possession on their records were participating in trafficking, i.e. directly supporting the cartels.

I'm fine with expunging the college kid who got caught with a few ounces; not the guy who also has 3 assaults, 2 burgleries, ect and pled to possession from trafficking/dealing.
