GP If you're convicted of a *job-related* serious crime (could be a serious misdemeanor for me), you should lose your pension. Short of that, you should keep your pension. And protected speech isn't even a close call on the "lose your pension" flow chart.

Many pensions have a contribution by the employee. They shouldn’t have that taken. If a person is vested I don’t see how it’s legal unless there’s a contract. Arbitrary rules can’t apply.

In the right context, saying you'd "like" to kill someone could be a threat. That's not a magic word that makes everything okay. In context on the recording, I think it's absolutely clear that it's not a threat, and any framing of it as such is disingenuous or ignorant.
