I've always based my post nuke strategies on Alas, Babylon. One of the few books i saved from the destruction of my library. I think my copy has almost as many frequent flier miles as I do.

Alas is pretty much the same scenario. I had to downsize my life. So about 6000 books got carted off by people I paid to cart them off. No room here, and no way to move them. I tried to save a few first editions and books that really mattered to me. Was not a happy day for me.

I had ~10,000 books. Pruned half of that away and donated it to Goodwill. Still have the other 5,000 ... mostly in boxes in the basement...
