I remember a bit in book "Nuclear War Survival Skills" (purchased at used book store in Ithaca NY c. 1990) where he talked about survival hunting: look at every regulation that exists to make hunting "more fair", and then reverse them. No lights? No bait? No semiautos? Well then

Alas is pretty much the same scenario. I had to downsize my life. So about 6000 books got carted off by people I paid to cart them off. No room here, and no way to move them. I tried to save a few first editions and books that really mattered to me. Was not a happy day for me.

I had ~10,000 books. Pruned half of that away and donated it to Goodwill. Still have the other 5,000 ... mostly in boxes in the basement...

The books i miss the most are the ones I got personally signed out having drinks with the authors. But hey, when you go from 3000sq feet to 800, that library just not gonna fit. I tossed basically all my stuff, except clothes, a cat, and guns.
