2/ I tend not to start diets because I'm good at modeling how they're going to be hard work, my humiliation if I start one and then drop out, etc. Except...when I _DO_ decide to do one, all the hard work has already been done / simulated. The DECISION POINT = hard; doing = easy

3/ Dieting is sort of like writing a 700 page novel, or paying off the mortgage, or whatever: you make a spreadsheet, the spreadsheet tells you what to do, and then you flip your p-zombie switch and just execute the plan, unflinchingly.

4/ All of which is a long-winded way of saying I didn't want to spend much time cooking lunch, and the chickens are starting to lay again, and so last night I sous vided a bunch of eggs while I was playing chess, and today I had a big bowl of egg salad for lunch (~800 cal, ~0 g)
