I will say that I think not being quite ready / not having reached some self-decided milestone when you meet someone who might be really right for you is a total bullshit reason not to proceed.

Wife pushed me past one step, niece pushed me past another (with wife). When balanced on a knife edge, noise in a system is s good thing. This is an actual engineering principle! Old paper seismographs used this principle.
