“ I’ve been paid off the books 20-26 an hour. Just because it is off the books does not mean that you can be exploited and paid below what is legally minimum wage.”

Oh geez learn 2 math ... less than $2/hr ?! “ I imagine a mother’s helper about 10-12 hours a week and would not meet the $1000 threshold in a year. If you have a high school student that’s probably what you would get. But that’s just me.”

I was googling for "regulations for small businesses in the Soviet Union" the other day (because I'd just read a book on the soviet economy that was excellent, and it turns out that small businesses WERE LEGAL !) Anyway...the google results are ... bad. >>>

know-it-all on history ("history") board: "I'm going to explain this to you slowly, because you're new here. The Soviet Union was communist, so businesses were illegal." another board: "LOL how can you have a business when money is illegal?!?!?"
