Had a young enthusiastic waiter tell me then other day that he was "leading his best life". Oh, sweet child. The older you get the more branchings of the multiverses you pass through...and the more you realize that your best life is thousands of bifurcations away from "now".

I like to play a parlor game with my self of what would/could I do differently freshman year of college. But I usually try not to think too far past that because it can get far afield. (For instance, moving to SF after school was a near lark, Chicago is reversion to mean)

What if I didn’t meet my wife? What if I met her at a different time when we were in the same city (a real possibility and something that may have happened and been unremarkable to both of us)
