I joined a neighborhood (gentrified Brooklyn) Facebook group for parents who are trying to navigate the open house/application/waitlist system for *public* schools. It's just a whole year of slow-motion train wreck.

I left divorce board not long after we got married, it was not good for me. Many of the ones I knew have also remarried but there are several redivorces too, and one went lesbian.

I hate hate hate hate non-market systems. Bowing and scraping to a king is bad enough (which is why I'm not a paleoreactionary). Bowing and scraping to some fourth rate functionary is shit which I will not do (which is why I live in exile, far from the lights of Rome, i guess)
