Huh? This seems like an entirely reasonable criticism, succinctly stated with a reason. Or is the tech community so perfect that it's worthless listening to others?

It's not so much that it's perfect, it's that most tech is science based and has underlying principals that are typically so tested as to be considered true. Sometimes something comes along and shakes that up, but it's rare enough to only be considered when that happens.
