Pretty gross. But it is at least a berry, like the permissible tomato. I am never a fan of mixing sweet and savory. Hard pass.

Only culinarily. Now pineapple, on the other hand, is a moral abomination.

I'll mix sweet and savory. Maple sugar bacon. If I have sinned father, I am sorry

just screams wrong to my palate. I dislike much "americanized" Chinese food for that same reason. Ditto traditional southern ham.

Generals Chicken is good. Better if you put a bunch of the hot cock sauce on it

My wife also dislikes sweet and savory mixtures. I like them. Used to be done in English cooking, but fell put of favor a few centuries ago. Arabs still do it a lot (e.g. dates and chicken, etc.)

Wrong prior! Arabs do it, I hate it.

So soundproof was...what? That Arabs mix sweet and savory? Or that Arabs always make bad decisions? Or what?

That Arabs do it confirms my prior that disliking it is absolutely correct.
