I love how he says "us" as though he had anything to do with designing InSight. Also, building a spacecraft like this and predicting the Earth's climate are drastically different things done by different people. So much wrong with this.

Climate systems are far more complex and dynamic than the solar system, no? Its False comparison on its face. Otherwise, Meteorologists could provide an *exact* weather forecast for every day of the next century, just as we can predict Mar's position in the sky in 10k years.

This isn't to downplay the engineering feats that go into the actual journey, but there aren't a whole lot of unknown variables that could throw your predictions off by an order of magnitude. Mars ain't going to shift its orbital period out of nowhere,.

Just because a few crackpots exist doesn't prove the whole concept is wrong. Some people will exploit anything for their own advantage. And I'm especially including you,

He's not saying all of science is bad. He's saying its healthy to be skeptical of something that's based entirely on guessing based on the best available evidence. Science is not fact but too many people treat it like its infallible

...a chaotic system LITERALLY THE SIZE OF A PLANET. Let alone the behavior/influence of a star. But they've totally got a handle on it. Those doomsday predictions are going to be right this time, they're sure of it!
