Ethics must be rooted in assumed (not proven) axioms. The logically necessary consequences and correlaries can be derived from these axioms - and that's what philosophy does. Would the CS profs teaching these classes be trained in philosophy?

What branch of ethics / axioms would be taught? Deontological? Virtue? Utilitarian? Any answer is a value judgement, and unsupportable except by faith. Why should I trust or agree with my CS prof's ethics? Can he prove them correct, or better than mine?

Well asked sir! This is quite telling, especially the 180 in 2 tweets. I find this far too often in academic discussion where most would run with Motte and Bailey style argumentation, these folks seem far more willing to just speak out of both sides of thier mouth about it.
