Ethics must be rooted in assumed (not proven) axioms. The logically necessary consequences and correlaries can be derived from these axioms - and that's what philosophy does. Would the CS profs teaching these classes be trained in philosophy?
-
What branch of ethics / axioms would be taught? Deontological? Virtue? Utilitarian? Any answer is a value judgement, and unsupportable except by faith. Why should I trust or agree with my CS prof's ethics? Can he prove them correct, or better than mine?

You have some deep-seated issues with a distrust of academics that blind you to what is actually being said, so you're making up some random crap.

CS depts must teach ethics. Empirically, we see our students going into the business of building a surveillance apparatus. This is not at the exclusion of others who teach ethics. They should, too.
