The wood stove is up and running. Fed it again this morning. It's work (I'm in a good sweat now) and it will be a big bucket of suck when there's 18" of snow on the ground. ...but all in all, I like it.

16 years. I dragged 6 cords out of the woods in Loudon, split it all by hand and fed the Papa Bear Fisher stove in the basement. Dont miss it much. In other news, I now have a bigger belly and smaller arms.

Have thought of that. Don't want to overdo it, and it's a sprawling country lot, so it's not like I need to keep every square foot of the place tidy - a discreet little ash pile behind the firewood that melts into the ground is OK w me. At some pt I might shovel it up for garden
