The cooking needn't be hard. Hunting high-altitude game with a knife you forged yourself should be hard. The rest is all harvesting peat for your cookfire. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy.

I’m pretty spoiled. I plan the menu, shop for the food. Then I tell my guy, the main cook here, what I want and he makes it. I do the dishes. This system works for us. We also grill out a lot. Even in the winter.

I menu plan and generate the shopping lists. Wife cooks breakfast and 1/3 of dinners, I do the other 2/3, then we do dishes together.
