If you are a prepper in an apartment but you live near a national forest with cabins..... by hook or crook ( cache ) near forest ( supplies ) go and appropriate someones vacation rental ( they wont need it ) MY 2 CENTS....

I live on a farm in the boonies, and this is my advice for urban preppers. Dude from the city shows up and tries to take a house, he's gonna end up dead. Dude from the city shows up and camps in his storage unit, offers to work, has items to trade? We'd welcome him.

Curious.... Do you kill the guy and his family who are squatting in the empty cabin you have ( or do you work it out ) *Context*

Well the roles are reversed in this case. Sure its easy to kill someone who is trying to assault ones property. Is it as easy to kill the same squatter who is already occupying ones property. I dont know about you guys... but where I am vacation rentals sit empty.

even if you get a cabin for free, an armed dude showing up with one backpack full of supplies (at best) is not a super welcome site now we've got a hungry armed stranger around yippee

We are talking past each other...... This is you're property. City dweller bugged out and found you're place has minimum supplies and does not want to leave. You need you're family to go inside and survive.... Do you kill him or deal.....

I'd be pretty itchy about an armed stranger camping out in my back cabin, lurking, so near me and mine. I'd talk to him, see what sort of deal he wanted to cut. If he was grateful and agreed to provide some services in rent, OK. ...but if arrogant or dismissive...
