You mentioned this already, but I suspect you are in danger of being unable to enjoy your own party due to its growth. This happens. It's a thing. It's probably a thing that's about to happen to you.

I encourage you to plan HUN6 in such a way that it requires very little personal involvement from you during the event itself. That includes everything from planning activities (let other people run them so you can enjoy them) to cleaning up (hire maids!). Good luck, have fun!

"I encourage you to plan " slow down. re-read that. There is already a wiki page, drafts of task sign up sheets, a registry of beds that can be assigned, etc. I think I can actually plan my way ahead of the curve!

".. in such a way that.." and what followed was the key part of that tweet. My point was: a host's idea of what they can do is often surprisingly more than they end up being able to do; and so, however little you're planning to do, I encourage you to plan to do even less.

I tried to make a bet with myself as to whether you'd ACTUALLY get around to emails during the cruise, but I couldn't find a personality fragment of myself that wanted to take the other side of the bet :P

Turns out taking the family on vacation is a lot like throwing a big weekend party.
