3/ ● delegation is awesome ● but scope creep (slaughter, butcher , pit roast a lamb) and headcount growth overwhelmed delegation: my total effort INCREASED. ● therefore, need to delegate MORE next year. Maybe appoint a chair of garbage, chair of dishes, chair of bedding, etc

4/ Oh, forgot
@drethelin in the Gift Olympics. He took gold. Thanks again! Also thrilled that everyone complied w the "cigars OUTSIDE" policy. House smells clean and fresh. Thanks! In fact, conscientiousness and politeness was SO high that@LibertyFarmNH actually said...2 replies 0 retweets 17 likesShow this thread -

6/ Bc this year was so polite and quiet (neither
@mr_archenemy nor Pax could make it, so no one was screaming drunkenly at 3am) that@LibertyFarmNH stuck around for almost the whole thing and enjoyed the heck out of it. She's got a plan for next year (tentative):1 reply 0 retweets 15 likesShow this thread -
7/ Get a 19th century British campaign style wall tent, set it up way way at the back of the pasture, have a fire and a teapot and a cot and a blanket and some campaign chairs, and if anyone cares to walk 600 feet out there to say hi, she'll serve tea and chat. >>>

You mentioned this already, but I suspect you are in danger of being unable to enjoy your own party due to its growth. This happens. It's a thing. It's probably a thing that's about to happen to you.

I encourage you to plan HUN6 in such a way that it requires very little personal involvement from you during the event itself. That includes everything from planning activities (let other people run them so you can enjoy them) to cleaning up (hire maids!). Good luck, have fun!

"I encourage you to plan " slow down. re-read that. There is already a wiki page, drafts of task sign up sheets, a registry of beds that can be assigned, etc. I think I can actually plan my way ahead of the curve!

".. in such a way that.." and what followed was the key part of that tweet. My point was: a host's idea of what they can do is often surprisingly more than they end up being able to do; and so, however little you're planning to do, I encourage you to plan to do even less.
