If you do interview me, after decrying the state of book store science fiction, I will go on to praise @BrianNiemeier @robkroese @JASutherlandBks @jondelarroz and other indies who are making science fiction great again.

3/ Same here. My B&N is a decent size, has 30 shelving units of SF&F ... and once or twice I week I poke through it...and there's almost NOTHING I want to read. Sad. https://twitter.com/JASutherlandBks/status/1052931397457985536 …

I read the Broken Earth trilogy because I thought "hey, 3 Hugos in a row right". I am not going to trash the books because they aren't terrible, but they weren't memorable in any way. I literally had to google "hugo winners" to remember the name of the series.

100% agree. I've gone back to reading Nalini Singh's fantasy/SF romance stuff as there is little to no new digestible hard SF available.

A whole lot of goony white beardos patting themselves on the back as they graciously 'allow' women and minorities (who would be writing anyway) to play in their ball pit.

Spot-on substantive critique.
