"Outliers are ok, but outliers must never be normalized" would be a good civilizational ethos.

That's an excellent point. We can test if the brain is X or Y chromosomes, and if that matches the body. Declaring your brain runs Intel Assembler on an AMD chipset means we are unable to test the truth of your claim.

obviously brains are built out of the same XX or XY cells as the rest of the body the question is whether the patterns and organization of the brain match the rest of the body I recall seeing fMRI studies showing that trans brains are not identical to the "identified" gender >

...but are closer to the identified gender than to the body phenotype gender e.g. a person born w a penis that identifies as female as XY genes, but a brain scan shows a corpus collosum and other brain structures closer to an XX woman than to an XY man

Right, but that's like staring at the layout of transistors on a CPU and trying to decide if it's an Intel or AMD. We just don't know enough about how the brain functions for me to trust that in today's society, never mind half of studies are not reproducible.

We aren't even sure if all of the mind lives in the brain! Does the soul contain gender, or is it solely defined by the meat we puppet? If so, where in that blob of gray matter does it live, or is it part of the whole nervous system feedback?

For me, all of these things add together to incline me to simply deny the Trans framing for the same reason I deny the "Ford is believable" framing. It gives the battlefield away before any shots are fired.

I don't care about "the battlefield". I care about truth.

Fair. I'm just saying you can't find the truth if the opposition sweeps you from the field and declares their position right and true. Make them work to show it is true. If they are right, then they will be able to prove it.

yep I mean, I'm not ignorant of "but the battleground". I'll fight the commies...but I'm still interested in knowing the truth, and won't chant lies just to make my teammates feel happy.

Now that I am totally down with. I have recently found it to be a harder question than it used to be, with all the Washington Generals in politics. Makes me much more inclined to reflexively dig in first.
