I think it's plausible that "real" trans is a thing. On the trans issue, I have sometimes brought up this point. If your mental identity isn't conforming with your biological body, there are 2 options to 'fix.' 1. Surgery to bring the body into alignment with the mind 2. Treatment to bring the mind into alignment with the body.

yep I imagine in 100 years there will be a pill full of nanotech to change your body M <-> F, and another pill full of nanotech to change your mind / brain M <-> F Right now there's very very rough tech to change bodies, and none to change brains
