Not RC here, so no dog in this fight. I truthfully think the Orthodox approach to priesthood is the most sensible and early historic one. HOWEVER, I agree that **in the current climate** the RCC giving an inch is likely an unwise move.

I can see that. I've seen similar arguments that "deaconesses are trad" (early Christianity) as if the push for female priests wasn't obviously subversive.
