Excellent choice on your welder. Hobart is made by Miller welders, so they are good quality, just without some of the bells and whistles. I bought a handler 185 several years ago and taught myself to weld with it.

I settled on a Thermal Dynamics cutmaster 42, it’s a decent machine that will sever up to 7/8” steel. I really wanted (still do) a Hypertherm, but the cost was 50% more.
