so $63k and I'm guessing ~$10k for slab? $73k for 5,000 ft^2 of shop barn space...ah, heaven.... In TX it's different, but in NE steel buildings say "industrial area", so not really compatible w gentleman farm (for resale purposes). Gives me the sads. :(

@idprism - one can do a HECK of a lot of homesteading on 3-5 acres w a 2-bedroom house. Buy an old schoolbus or two (no engine necessary) and use them as barns or storage sheds...or buy used cargo containers cheap. Barter to borrow a neighbor's tractor. etc.3 replies 0 retweets 3 likes -

In fact, the TYPICAL homesteader is working on a budget in the $100s, not the 100s of thousands.

I'm at 4 years and 6 months. In another 5.5 years we'll have pretty much everything we want done, done. ...which is good! We'll be in our early 50s. Time to enjoy it all!
