My kids’ school district has a few entire schools which get free lunches. I’m baffled as to why they do the whole school instead of just the kids who need the help. (Assuming arguendo that free lunches to poor kids is a proper goal.)

Reminds me of this story from the city where I work: https://www.therecord.com/news-story/2598150-man-shocked-by-arrest-after-daughter-draws-picture-of-gun-at-school/ … The original story is crazy, but what pushed it over the top was the district school superintendent stating to the press that they are "co-parents" of the children. https://torontosun.com/2012/02/28/teachers-should-leave-parenting-to-the-parents/wcm/0cce4932-22f0-4597-8be8-4d30e9deed51 … Insane.

My school taught "home economics" then, so each kid could make a meal from scratch. These kids aren't even learning how to pay for one.

I'm sure they would be happy to expand this to adults, including the childless. It's Universal Basic Food, which can be combined with Universal Basic Income. You see where this is going.

Or by those with kids who don't send them to school and pay for their own kids' food and are responsible people, generally.
