Do get some kind of treatment. After my publishing company died I slept so little I started hallucinating. I gained weight and got almost nothing done for a couple of years. Only once I was treated for depression and began to sleep again did my life come back together.

Also look in to sleep apnea. It's nearly-universally-reported (including by my wife and other relatives) that getting a CPAP made them feel better literally overnight. So much better, in fact, that it was a stunning discovery to realize how bad they had been feeling.

Unsolicited but possibly beneficial advice: Set up a Box fan with a HEPA filter attached in the sleeping area. Does a great job removing irritants from the local atmosphere, provides cooling air flow, and pleasant level of white noise, all of which helps with sleep.pic.twitter.com/YjwzZR2VX0
