But I got a degree the world is supposed to be my oyster!!!!! My parents and grandparents told me how all you needed was a degree and then you get hired & have a job for life and you get a nice house, picket fence, new cars...
Ditto here
My daughter paid her off in 5 years. But, she drives a 5000 dollar car she paid cash for, and never spends more money than she makes. She had a savings account making 9.50 an hour. It’s called a budget.
Millennials, they need someone to find them and give them a job. The problem is they let people with no talent get Art degrees and so they think they can be an artist
I graduated 10yr later than you with maybe another 2x on that. I now have maybe the same debt as the meme (aside from mortgage) but at like 2% interest, and a house. Good job you. (I could also pay it off, should I choose it makes the most sense)
1/ as much fun as it is to poke fun at arts majors we must understand that structurally the economy young people of today are entering is different from the one of 25 years ago as Stockman lays out in his book the Great deformation the number of Breadwinner jobs has decreased.
2/ by double digit percentage numbers since the 1980's and while it is easy to find a job that job may not pay as well as a job one might expect to get in say 1993 comparatively
I work with a guy. CNC lathe operator. Does setups, fills out his reports. 10 hours a night. Has no thumbs. If you don't have a job in Trump's economy, there's something else wrong. Time to reopen a bunch of mental hospitals.
Really disappointed nobody picked up on your Lebowski reference.
