3/ Menu plan for this week has 100% of meat from our farm: spiced lamb burgers, ribs, turkey pot pie, Anthony Bourdain pork cutlet sandwichpic.twitter.com/6H1br6WudH
4/ Saved the best garlic for planting in a few months. The remaining heads will be washed and frozen. Should get us through the year (easily!) until that crop comes in a year from now.pic.twitter.com/QCZZBwl9r9

Washed and trimmed. Maybe 100 or so heads?
Plus a dozen saved for planting, plus three or four went into @LibertyFarmNH 's pesto.pic.twitter.com/Zqx3C2pwuY
Every yr is 3 steps forward and 1.25 steps back. Garlic is a success...pigs are doing well...sheep got sick...vineyard is excellent...greenhouse irrigation is excellent...geese are ok...fruit on trees eaten by critters...corn is good, but needs to be hoed ASAP. Always learning.
Yeah, farming (even hobby farming) is weird in that there are a dozen or two dozen things where you have to make the right decision in a 2 week window & if you screw up, that's it until same time next yr. E.g. planting veggies, getting hay in, tapping maple trees, picking grapes
Grapes are day by day.
/shrug We have M-F jobs. It's either one Sunday or the next.
Given the Texas climate it distills inside the grapeskin
