Having a lingua franca is overrated and not fconducive to diversity. Besides orcing the poor nonwhites to speak English is racist you know.

Somebody has to. Why not her? Either her coworkers learn English or she learns Spanish. Or most likely, they both learn a little of each so they can start communicating sooner.

because she lives in a nation that is historically English speaking if I move to Kenya should all of my coworkers there learn English instead of me learning the local language?
