I used to do the same, but became aware of a specific group of them who mass-report with glee. So, rather than excise that tumor with precision (ain't nobody got time for that), I hit it with broad spectrum chemo and blocked thousands of the pricks.

Hilariously, the thing apparently doesn't protect the blue checks. They're generally immune to Twitter's other devices. So it spilled over from just limiting the reach of certain blue checks that they regret having to verify to also silencing congresscritters. Well done, idiots.

I'd imagine it's a little more complex, but probably not much. Assign each reporter a "weight" based on how reliable you find their reporting. If they're good, you increase it, if they're bad you reduce it.
