The idea of America being a creedal nation and relying on shared culture aren't actually at odds. We have an American culture that incorporates everyone who comes and assimilates. The problem is that people stopped assimilating, and we stopped asking them to.

Yep, it is beyond merely rejecting the traditions and unifying principles of the country, but outright actively attempting to force them out so *nobody* can practice them and replace them with something new, preferably something that gives them the ability to rule us more easily.

The use cultural/social power to do this constantly, and political power when they have it. Consider that the U.S. is the ONLY place where certain traditions and values, like anti-tyranny measures, free speech, focus on individual rights, GUN RIGHTS, are baked into the pie.
