> overly literal it me: high IQ uber sperg HOWEVER, I am also trying to make a point: when people tar a position with emotional baggage, it implicitly serves to strengthen the REVERSE of that position (given that most people are overly emotional / not logical). Agree?

1/ ok. (and first - thanks for engaging in a discussion ; truly appreciate it) Let us imagine that there is some stance X, say "cops are often abusive". There is implicitly the opposite stance: "not X", i.e. "no, cops are almost NEVER abusive".

3/ So
@MorlockP and@LucyStag say "well, look, it doesn't matter if Manson said it; it's objective truth!" And then the bootlickers - who, in this hypothetical, control the media - run hundreds of articles: "Libertarians echo Charles Manson's words 'cops are often abusive' "2 replies 0 retweets 2 likes -
Okay, I understand concept. Kind of like when I read Timothy McVeigh's little essay on government hypocrisy about violence and cringe horribly while finding nothing incorrect?

And human history makes me suspicious of people stressing "but the white people!" It's easy to figure out why there's no white history month and no straight pride parades.

If you'd made that argument in 1970 or 80 or 90 I'd agree with you. ...but we are now in an era where black pride / brown pride / Asian pride ... EVERY SINGLE KIND EXCEPT white pride is acceptable. ...and there are college courses and Atlantic articles on how "whiteness" is bad

There are stereotypes/worst nightmares, but when these people mean "white" they mean a category, a perk in society. You might not agree, but that's the idea. Irish and Italians earned their place in "white." It's not about individuals, really.
