I’m generally gracious to a fault UNTIL I figure out that my very graciousness is being cynically weaponized against me by a person. Then I don’t usually go nasty - but I do indeed stop cooperating with that nonsense.

A couple months back I decided that I am done with apologies outside of family and dear friends. Real challenge at first. Apologizing is like smoking a cigarette - a bad habit for resolving immediate tension which amplifies long term tension.
