/ tentative hypothesis is that a whisker from crappy EPA mandated lead-free solder bridged from a high voltage line to something else, whisker turned gaseous at high speed, spatter sprayed other circuit board, and blew a trace right off the board (see first pic near center)

/ Have now done 15 min of research. Line that shorted was 30 A, 250 V (!!!) It damaged BOTH boards when it went. Board is no longer made. Repair services for board exist ( ~ $100-150 ) but won't touch scorched boards. Relay not available anywhere. :-/

/ There are a few hoarders out there selling new boards for the price of new ovens. Options: * board service * new board * desolder relay, test, if good, rewire blown traces point-to-point * new oven

/ My inclination: * Skip board service. Prob won't touch my board bc scorch and trace, but even if they did, sketchy. * MAYBE desolder relay, test, if it works replace blown traces with point-to-point * if that fails (or if I skip it) just buy an oven

no, false it was an explosion. I was there, I heard it. The board is deeply blackened. The solder is vaporized and left a crater. Ejecta tore traces off other board
