1/ well, the AG actually isn't that crazy; I'm going into more depth on it in vols 3 and 4https://twitter.com/thepiclord/status/1003714410647576577 …

2/ I worked with this guy for a few years, and we had lots of long discussions about digital physicshttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norman_Margolus …

3/ And the AG drive in the novels is relatively thought-through in terms of how it's implemented. It does obey conservation of energy. N.B. the part when the Wookie crash lands - there are subtle details there talking about energy densities of batteries.

6/ HAHAHAHAHAHHHHHHHAAAAAAA no The AG drive, correctly understood, is the most insane WMD ever invented. Because once you pull the hood off and start to think about how it works... ever program in BASIC and use the PEEK command on a 6502 ?https://twitter.com/thepiclord/status/1003716417135443968 …
ⓘ Dogs don't have thumbs added,
Todd Barrett @thepiclordReplying to @MorlockPI Look forward to that. I had largely assumed that the AG drive was a great way to have a cheap and efficient space transit method that sidesteps the "any cheap and efficient rocket system is a potential WMD" implications. Harder to justify open-sourcing other kids of drive.2 replies 1 retweet 9 likesShow this thread -
Replying to @MorlockP
"Correctly understood." Sounds like you can still avoid having every random Tom, Dick, and Rex using the AG drive as a planet-buster by the sheer complexity built in, so making modifications is largely fruitless if you don't understand how it works.
